Cybersyn explored how computing and communication might support coordination in Chile’s economy between 1971 and 1973. Its interface design belongs to a wider history of information systems, not a fully realised digital utopia. The socialist question it opens remains concrete: can those who do the work participate in decisions about the whole? Neither a futuristic operations room nor a stream of data, by itself, settles who has power.
