The WBS 70 is not one building but a repeatable system of housing. Introduced in 1970, it reached its first completed block in Neubrandenburg in 1973. Prefabricated elements made construction an industrial process, extending the logic of standard parts to the rooms of everyday life. The system helps connect architecture with smaller objects in this collection: both a kiosk and an apartment can be designed as modules. A standard plan, however, is only the beginning of a home's history; inhabitants furnish, maintain and remember particular rooms.
